Some people actually like January.  I consider myself to be one of those people.  I relish the opportunity to make a fresh start, and challenging myself to take on New Year’s resolutions is like a game to me.  I am passionate about good food and healthy eating, so aspirations in this area abound.  The problem is, I tend to get carried away with the number of resolutions I make, and everyone knows how that turns out come February.  Seeking out healthy foods and recipes is great, but you only get so far if you don’t make the time time to cook.  In addition, I have two little girls who love to get messy in the kitchen with me.  And while they don’t jump up and down at the sight of green vegetables, they are way more excited to try something if they helped in the creation.

With this in mind, I decided that the best way to accomplish my prior years’ resolutions was to challenge myself to just one simple thing:  cook at least one new recipe each week.  This website is a diary of all that fun, and will perhaps even keep me accountable past February.  I don’t expect that every dish will turn out famously, but they will be healthy and if I’m lucky, I may even want to cook without a recipe by next year.

Wish me luck!

Melanie
